The weblog world was smaller back then and as a college student I was really into it. The launch of a new blog -- and a **collaborative** one at that was a real event. It didn't happen every day (or multiple times a second) back then.
Did I fist see it linked from Camworld or Infosift maybe? I don't remember exactly, but it was sometime soon after the sight launched in 1999, and I've been an ardent reader ever since.

Back when Glenn Beck was a mere right wing radio talk show host, his website flagrantly copied and modified a piece I had written.
I asked for advice and help, and eventually there was a front page post that helped bring light to the issue and documented what happened in real time. The issue was positively resolved, and there's ample evidence of what happened preserved.
