I started reading Metafilter in 2002 courtesy of BoingBoing, who linked to several different cool items "via" Mefi.
pregnant?!
I jokingly posted a photo of my daughter on Projects, with a link to a faked AskMe question ("How do I get my wife pregnant?") and the response in the resulting MetaTalk thread was funny & sweet & heartwarming in the way only the very attributes of an online community could be. I don't participate on MetaFilter anymore, but I got so much joy & happiness out of the many years I spent there, and I like to see that the community thrives to this day. Thanks for a great 12 years.
