I have long forgotten what drew me here. I suspect I googled a technical question which had been answered on AskMe, and stayed to gawk at the human relations category. After a long time I realised that the comments on each MeFi thread were of a higher quality than most blog comments, and got sucked in to the vortex after reading so many informative and entertaining opinions.
Intelligent discussion
Reading about controversial (to my social circle) socio-political attitudes, not from any user in particular, and realising that this place was full of people who were whip-smart and snarky and yet compassionate towards people who'd chosen a different way of life than the mainstream.
