One of my friends at the time, Grabbingsand, had told me of Elliot Smith's death and I couldn't find it on any mainstream news, but lo and behold, there was this entire community who not only knew but were having an active discussion and I was hooked.
Finding my footing
I have been on here a LONG time and it has seen me through undergraduate, graduate, and a truly horrific relationship. I received so much support with even Jessamyn reaching out through email to make sure I was safe. I posted a lot of it anonymously, but some of it is in my post history. It was truly a place where I could type out the things I couldn't ask my neighbors and friends.
Now, I am a rather boring 40+ year old on the other side from all that. I feel very blessed to have been a part of this ride.
