It felt like I waited forever for registration to open up again, and I signed up as soon as membership opened again.

I lurked forever, posted to the blue a few times, made a left turn at Albuquerque, and discovered that I really belonged on the Green.

The Laurie Garrett thread was the first time I really understood how a asynchronous crowd of differently-smart people could tackle a problem and come up with remarkable answers.

It started my conversation with other English grad students about crowd-sourced argument and inquiry.

Bonus points for providing an example of how journalism was going to fall behind the power of the crowd.
