It was a link from a blog, probably Megnut. And I had found that by reading a New Yorker article about Weblogs. The New Yorker was paper so I had to type in URLs to see more of the world they were describing.
I read the site for a year without joining. It was the long form discussions, full of thought, wit and consideration that drew me in. And the posts themselves, unveiling something new in the world, a curiosity cabinet in midst of assembly.
